Kent is easily our team member with the most remarkable breadth of knowledge and skills. Kent joined Shepherd 25 years ago as a machine operator, his role until his exceptional computer skills quickly landed him a permanent spot in the office. He now oversees the operation of the production facility and far more. Kent installs our bedding dispensing systems, manages our freight and shipping company relationships, and administers and manages our information technology systems. He can also expertly back a 53-foot trailer into the loading dock when needed. (There are few tasks that Kent can’t do!) Kent married his childhood sweetheart, Darcie, and they have two sons and six grandchildren. His youngest son, Tyler, joined his dad at Shepherd as a multi-trained machine operator and maintenance supervisor in training.When Kent is away from the Watertown facility, he spends his time with his boys in the rolling hills nearby, cutting close to a hundred acres of hay and tending to a herd of 20 cattle.
